The other morning I was watching one of those morning shows and they were taking a poll to see how many men and women have had some sort cosmetic surgery done. I had not had any work done on myself, but I know that at least five women and even one man who have had some type of work done to their face or body.

I was shocked to see the results and could not wait to report them at the water cooler later in the day. Two of my coworkers had seen the same show and we started talking about all the people we knew who have had work done.

I have been in a wheelchair now for about thirty years and dread every time I need to be picked up out of my chair to get into any kind of exam chair. I do not care if it is at the doctors, the dentists or at any other place where they need me to be in their chair, I am always scared that I will fall.

When I read about this new tilting wheelchair device, I called and asked my healthcare providers if they had ever thought about installing one, and they all responded that they had never even heard of them. I forwarded the information onto them, that I had found and then gave them a few weeks to look it over and then called back. All but one of my doctors said that they were having them installed sometime in the next month. The one doctor that is not putting one in has responded by telling me that he does not see it as a necessary expense.

I intend to sit outside of the one doctor’s office to have a petition signed by every other wheelchair bound patient that he has, that will make him see that his patients think that it would be a very wise expense.

When a storm blew through our town a lot of people had damage to their homes. I called a few home remodeling contractors to see if they could help us out. Two of the companies said that they were sending crews out to see what needed to be done. I knew that I needed at least three vinyl windows to be replaced since they had been hit by debris and had huge cracks in them. The home remodeling contractors were going from house to house and checking to see what damage had been done to each home.

The day they stopped by my house, they gave us an estimate for the three vinyl windows for us to show to our insurance company. I called the insurance company to get them to okay the work to be done. They said that their adjuster would be out to see if the windows really needed to be replaced.

I was not very happy with them for thinking that maybe we did not need new windows but the adjuster agreed and we hired the home remodeling contractors to perform the work. They installed the three new vinyl windows the following week and our town is slowly getting back to normal.

My son just bought a brand new fancy red sports car. I was shocked to see him pull up in the driveway with it. He said that he got such a great deal on it that he could not pass it up. The only problem with it, is that the car insurance is really high for it. Apparently when you have a fancy car that people like to steal, it makes your car insurance rates very high.

I would think that if you keep it in a parking garage when you are at work, and then in your own garage at home, that the car insurance companies should cut you a break but that is not how it works. I asked him what his wife thought about the new fancy red sports car, and he said that she was not too thrilled with it but he knew that once she drove it that she would love it. He may have to let her drive it all the time, when she finds out how expensive the car insurance is on it.

I am glad that my son got the car of his dreams but am not happy that someone else gets to determine how much he should pay for his car insurance on top of the car payment that he is making.
