Posted by KyleP on August 28th, 2009 Unique characteristics of Cisco products are evident from the fact that the product that is new in the market today will become used Cisco after a couple of month. In the same analogy some of the Cisco Catalyst 2900 might also be appearing soon in the market in form of used Cisco. Even some of them might have arrived already in the market in that capacity.
These products from Cisco are inexpensive and come in the category of managed switches. They are extremely suitable for connecting the workgroups with Ethernet and Fast Ethernet connectivity. The equipment provides 10 or 100 Mbps connectivity to the network components they connect. The network components could be Gigabit Ethernet or the ATM.
Modular design of the 2900 series allow the users to add 24 10BaseT/100 Base T, the 100 Base FX, the Gigabit Ethernet, or even the Asynchronous Transfer Mode or ATM OC-3 ports. You can put together up to 9 catalyst 2924MXL switches together. The scalability is excellent with the inexpensive yet highly efficient Cisco GigaSback gigabit interface controller or GBIC.
The underlying IOS switching package gives you the CLI or the command line interface. You can define the modes however. They are managed with a separate layer of control other than the router. The router and switches is extremely user friendly. The only down side is the Cisco repair in this case that could be run by Cisco trained personnel alone.
Posted by KyleP on August 27th, 2009 When we were looking for new computers last month, my boyfriend and I visited many local computer stores that had used equipment. I really wanted to buy new, and was sick of seeing used pseries servers and used ibm computers everywhere. The computer that I was looking for was nowhere to be found. I had read that it was the one to have, if you were a gamer.
I am a serious gamer and need a computer to keep up with me, not a used ibm. I need something that is new age and one that has great speakers too. After seeing my tenth pseries server in the eighth computer shop that we visited, I told my boyfriend that we needed to go and shop online for the exact thing I wanted. I did not want to keep driving around looking at used junk.
When we got online, and typed in the exact make and model of the computer I wanted to buy, it popped up on the screen. I was so excited to place my order and pay for it to be delivered within seventy two hours, right to my front door step. I vowed not to drive around looking for anything again, when you can just order it online much easier.
Posted by KyleP on August 23rd, 2009 My brother needed to buy a computer for his ten year old son to take with him to school. I knew that he could not afford to spend too much so I told him that I would look online for some good deals. I found some used dell computers for a great price and just went ahead and ordered one for him, since it was such a great deal.
I called to let him know that I had placed the order and the new used dell would arrive in plenty of time for my nephew to take it to school with him. He asked me some questions about it and I informed him that it had one of those used poweredge servers too. He was happy to find out that I had not just ordered a cheap computer.
When it did arrive, my nephew was so happy; I showed him how to set it up so he could do it by himself when he got to school. He felt confident in knowing everything he could about his used dell. He even sent me an email the first day of school to let me know he had set up the used poweredge servers computer all by himself.
Posted by KyleP on August 13th, 2009 I want to ask my parents if they will buy me this used sun computer that I saw online but I am afraid that they will say no since I overloaded my last computer and it crashed. I cannot believe that they think I would do that again. I hate not having a computer all to myself.
I have had to use the used sun computer that is in the den, and everyone can see what I am doing. My little sister reads over my shoulder and my parents are always asking me what I am doing. I just want a little privacy that is all.
I know that my mom and dad know what a great deal the used sun products are, because they have bought two used sun servers and three used sun computers from the same company before. I would even be willing to give up my allowance for a year, to get my own computer and help to buy them another used sun server if they want.
If I do convince them to buy me the used sun computer, I will have to be very careful to not download too many games onto it or it will crash like the last one and then they will never get me anther computer again.
