I heard from a friend that they do not sell engagement ring cleaner to any of their future brides, because they want them to come in and have it professionally cleaned. The first time is free, but every cleaning after that, is twenty dollars. I would think that if you sell engagement ring cleaner that it could guarantee you a few bucks, because they do not have to come to you to have their ring cleaned.

That same friend also told me that he does sell wedding ring sets to couples, instead of separates then he offers them free cleaning for life. That sounds like a much better deal and when he explained the difference between the engagement ring thing and the wedding ring thing, it made sense.

If he sells an engagement ring, there is no guarantee that the people are going to get married. If then he does sell wedding ring sets to a couple, then the wedding is probably sometime very soon. Married couples are more likely to spend more money on each other on additional pieces of jewelry for anniversaries, birthdays and holidays so he wants them to keep coming into the store. His thinking may seem strange at first, but I guess that it does make some sense.
