I was all for getting the veneers after my dentist showed me how nice they look on your teeth. He had put them on about thirty patients and I saw many of their before and after pictures and thought that the results were amazing. The only thing that I did not discuss directly with the dentist about the veneers was the cost. I waited to talk with the receptionist who would be setting up my appointment to have them installed.

When she asked me if I had dental insurance, I informed her that I did but did not know if it was covered by them or not. She looked up my policy on her fancy computer and told me that according to what she could see, my insurance pays for half the cost of veneers.

After trying to figure out where I would get the other ten thousand dollars, I decided to switch dentists. I could not go back to my old dentist and tell him why I could not get the fancy veneers, I would be too ashamed. I pulled out a phone book as soon as I returned home from that appointment to look through the yellow pages for dentists in my area.
