I Should Have Known What a Cat5e Patch Panel Was on the Rack Shelves
E Commerce July 9th, 2009I was playing around on the Internet at work when all of a sudden the whole system shut down. I was not sure what happened because the lights were still on but all of the computers went down like they crashed or something. My boss called in our tech guy and he opened the cat5e patch panels only to find some chewed wires. It seems some mice had got in on the rack shelves and were chewing and eating the wires. I guess I should have listened to my boss when he told me and the other new girl to set some mice traps in the back next to the cat5e patch panels and to even put one up on the rack shelves just to be sure. At the time I was not even sure what the cat5e patch panels were, he should have just told me it was a gray looking junction box thing and I would have known. I hope he is not mad about it but it is too late now. Hopefully the maintenance man from the computer company can get the patch panel open and repaired soon so we do not lose any business. Then I will go back there and set some traps up on the rack shelves to keep that from happening again.
